I spent ten years living in large apartment complexes across Nashville, Cincinnati, and Greenville, South Carolina. In February 2024, my wife and I brought home a puppy, Teddy, into our fifth-floor apartment.
There were lots of new, excited moments ahead for us. Some challenging, potty training, but most great. We realized that our lives in an urban downtown were SUPER different than we envisioned typical dog parenting: no yard, no acres of land, no suburban streets. We live differently than most pet brands cater to, and so do all our neighbors and their pups. So, in 2026, we set out to change that by launching a new kind of pet brand, one that caters to the everyday life of urban living.

The first, and largest challenge, we and others faced when bringing home a new puppy is: Potty Training. It can be exhausting, especially in an apartment complex, brownstone, or condominium.

An in-unit solution is needed. We knew puppy pads could delay potty training and wanted Teddy to learn on real grass, however, we didn't trust the trays. Water builds up, sitts in the tray, and inevitably smells. There is nowhere for it to go.
I built the first potty box within 3-days of Teddy coming home with us. It was huge and had about 40lbs of pea-gravel. I built it on my porch and it leaked, killed the grass, and didn't work, but it changed our lives. We could give teddy the potty space he needed when he needed it.
